Turkey Cement Works, Elmley

The cement works at Elmley were situated opposite the mouth of Milton Creek on the Swale.

They were built in the 1860s and worked by Messrs William Levett and Co and other big names in cement manufacturing at the time.

The small village of Elmley grew up around the cement works, but started to disappear after the Turkey Cement Works closed in 1900.
